Data Centre Security Officer

Workrate UK – Iron Mountain Data Centres

Workrate UK is seeking a dedicated and professional Data Centre Security Officer to join our specialist Data Centre Security Team. This is a dynamic role covering three data centre locations, providing holiday and sickness cover—ensuring variety and no two days being the same.

As a Data Centre Security Officer, you will play a vital role in protecting our client’s critical infrastructure and data assets by maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to data centre premises using proprietary security systems

  • Conduct regular patrols to ensure the physical security of the site

  • Respond effectively to security incidents and emergency situations

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all security-related activities

  • Work closely with colleagues to implement and enforce security policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Previous security experience preferred but not essential

  • Valid SIA License (essential)

  • First Aid Certificate (essential)

  • Strong understanding of security procedures and protocols

  • Excellent observation skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Job requirements

Other requirements are:

Valid SIA licence

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (this will be tested during interview)

Availability to work dayshifts (shifts run 07.00 to 19.00)

Effective oral and written communication skills (this will be tested during interview)

Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Excellent attention to detail

A 5 year checkable work/ education history is imperative. All successful candidates are subject to BS7858 security clearance. (Same as the vetting required for a SIA licence).
